| Abstract | This article offers an alternative definition of what constitutes a profession that relies on the importance of a professional community, the role of occupation in defining a profession, and he centrality of a moral ideal and the necessity for morally binding standards (beyond ordinary morality). In conclusion, the author considers what light this alternative definition can throw on the professional status of engineers serving the Nazis. |
