Abstract

The authors of this article discusses an methodology for developing ethics education programs for experienced medical staff. They discuss a multi-disciplinary five day workshop on ethics for neonatal intensive care personnel. The course used a case-based approach to encourage nurses and physicians to enhance their understanding of ethical principles and their relevance to clinical and research activities, and allows them to apply this knowledge to relevant cases in a way that bridges the gap between theory and practice.
