AbstractArticle discusses the ethical issues that come up with the use of statistics in medical research. Abuse of statistical principles and methods are just as unethical as other research misconduct. In the case of research design, misuse of statistics can lead to worthless results and wasted effort and resources. In clinical research, patient resources are wasted and it can even lead to inferior therapy being given to patients.
