AbstractThe author describes and approach to teaching students about the the ethical challenges faced by public sector professionals. This approach asks students to write an objective, fact-filled letter to an organization they feel has behaved unethically toward them. A specific protocol is presented for writing the letters and for analyzing the letters and responses in class, together with an outline of expected outcomes, cautions, and tangential learning opportunities.
