AbstractEngineering tools and techniques can be used to advance health care by allowing us to better analyze risks and benefits of potential new drugs and treatments. The Physiome Project seeks to do this by developing quantitative models of different species, individuals, and even biological systems that can be linked and interact. In time, these models may help us to develop better therapies, avoid catastrophic errors, and avoid large risks to human subjects.
