AbstractMary Johnson is working as the lead engineer on a project designing a parking structure in an area where the soil is poor. She runs into some issues dealing with the construction crew who suspect her credibility because she is a woman, and her suggestions based on the concrete samples and what she observes at the construction site are dismissed by the construction superintendent. A few years later, problems arise with the integrity of the parking structure, and her company and the constructor contractor are sued. Includes numerical problems.
