| Abstract | Jilian Dulnik, a graduating senior, asked her professor and adviser, Dr. Maunders, to provide a letter supporting her application to graduate school. Dr. Maunders expressed his reluctance to write the letter, remembering Jilian's mediocre grades and lack of initiative regarding her career. He instead suggests that she ask someone who knows her better to write the letter, but Jilian asks again, so Dr. Maunders writes a letter that describes her performance in class as satisfactory and her grades as adequate. |
