AbstractThis study looks at the impact of the inclusion of a problem-oriented ethics education program in a four-year dental curriculum. Students who had completed the course were asked to take the Defining Issues Test at the beginning and end of their school careers, and a number of students were asked open-ended questions about the value of ethics instruction. The results of the survey showed a market increase in ethical reasoning skills for the students receiving the ethics component, and students responded that they found it a helpful and interesting addition to the program.
