AbstractThis article describes the development of a responsible conduct of research course for biomedical students at Virginia Commonwealth University. Drawing from experience developing the course, the authors discuss discuss general considerations of course content, examine the use of published guidelines and other documents from government agencies and professional societies as teaching tools, and look at the importance of case studies in teaching scientific integrity.
