AbstractThis article looks at some context-specific social and political factors in Eastern and Central Europe that should be considered when developing strategies to introduce computer ethics into professional programs.The author uses Poland as an example, pointing out how the GNP per capita, the cost of hardware and software, uneven and scan distribution of computing resources and attitudes toward work and authority are major factors that should influence the development of the field of computer ethics.
