Luk Van Parijs, an associate professor, had been placed on leave and denied access to his lab and office after members of his research group reported allegations of research misconduct to the MIT officials in August 2004. During the course of the MIT's investigation of the matter, Van Parijs, who did not have tenure, admitted he had faked data in the paper. The hospital released a statement saying that it recently became aware of information that raised questions about the integrity of Van Parijs' research and that it has been assessing that information.</style>
<issue><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">12</style></issue><work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Article</style></work-type><accession-num><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">18829960</style></accession-num><notes><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Jacobson, Jennifer; Source Info: 11/11/2005, Vol. 52 Issue 12, pA13; Subject Term: EMPLOYEES -- Dismissal of; Subject Term: MALPRACTICE; Subject Term: CAMBRIDGE (Mass.); Subject Term: MASSACHUSETTS; Company/Entity: MASSACHUSETTS Institute of Technology; People: VAN Parijs, Luk; Number of Pages: 1/3p; Document Type: Article; Full Text Word Count: 816</style></notes></record></records></xml>
