It states that Suleman gave birth to her babies through in vitro fertilization (IVF) which was not often employed to transfer six embryos to a woman. The author is critical of the physician's observation of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) guidelines. The practice of fertility clinics, which monitors both patient fertility and physical readiness to gestate a baby, is also analyzed.</style>
<doi><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">10.1353/hcr.0.0133</style></doi><issue><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">3</style></issue><notes><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Hastings Center ReportAccession Number: 40513807; JOHNSTON, JOSEPHINE; Source Info: May2009, Vol. 39 Issue 3, p23; Subject Term: ESSAY (Literary form); Subject Term: MULTIPLE birth; Subject Term: FERTILIZATION in vitro; Subject Term: MEDICAL ethics; Subject Term: FERTILITY clinics; Subject Term: EMBRYOS; Subject Term: CALIFORNIA; NAICS/Industry Codes: 621410 Family Planning Centers; NAICS/Industry Codes: 325413 In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing; People: SULEMAN, Nadya; Number of Pages: 3p; Document Type: Essay</style></notes></record></records></xml>
