The aim of this course is to introduce young engineers to broad global concepts and issues relating to their future professional practice, through intercultural learning. The initial course programme provided examples of engineering practices in various countries throughout the world. This paper will discuss the success of the strategies used to engage international students in the IIWE course activities, and after consideration of the results of participant surveys, the curriculum initiatives that followed. </style>
<doi><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">10.1080/03043790903047503</style></doi><issue><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">3</style></issue><work-type><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Article</style></work-type><accession-num><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">41689978</style></accession-num><notes><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Hazelton, Pam 1; Email Address: Pam.Hazelton@uts.edu.au Malone, Molly 2 Gardner, Anne 1; Affiliation: 1: Faculty of Engineering, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia 2: International Institute of Women in Engineering, EPF-Ecole d'ingenieurs generaliste, Sceaux, France; Source Info: Jun2009, Vol. 34 Issue 3, p281; Subject Term: ENGINEERING -- Study &amp; teaching; Subject Term: RESEARCH; Subject Term: WOMEN in engineering; Subject Term: ENGINEERING students; Subject Term: ENGINEERS; Subject Term: PROFESSIONAL practice; Subject Term: SUSTAINABLE engineering; Subject Term: INDUSTRIAL engineering; Subject Term: STUDENTS, Foreign; Subject Term: SURVEYS; Author-Supplied Keyword: multicultural; Author-Supplied Keyword: multidisciplinary; Author-Supplied Keyword: professional practice; Number of Pages: 10p; Illustrations: 5 Graphs; Document Type: Article</style></notes></record></records></xml>
