AbstractThe article describes a exportable class in research methods for graduate students in science and engineering developed by Dartmouth College. Developing and testing methods for evaluating students' progress in learning research ethics were part of the project goals. The failure of the first assessment methods the first year lead to the refinement of these methods, which by the second and third year were used successfully in the pilot course.
