Abstract

This book explores the two areas of academic ethics, and teaching practical and professional ethics in the university setting. The author gives a detailed description of an Ethics Across the Curriculum workshop held at the Illinois Institute of Technology to help faculty integrate ethics into their curricula, as well as detailing some strategies for working ethics into classroom instruction, such how to develop and use case studies to introduce students to ethical issues. The author also looks at the history of teaching ethics in the university, and explores the areas of research ethics, academic freedom, and scientific responsibility and integrity.
