AbstractThe authors discuss the importance of including ethics in the engineering curriculum, and discuss the introduction of ethics into the engineering classroom in terms of four questions: What is engineering ethics? Why should it be emphasized in engineering education? How should it be taught? and When should it appear in the student's classroom? The authors also discuss using the case study method in teaching, especially by introducing students to cases that reflect the types of ethical situations they are likely to encounter in their day to day practice of engineering.
