| Abstract | In a response to Jasanoff's article in the same journal issue, the article explores how timely public engagement includes more than just research into the ethical, legal, and social dimensions of science and state-initiated citizen participation. It also includes a diverse set of actors including academics, scientists and engineers, technology assessment institutes, citizens, and last, but not least, politicians. |
