The
Members of the National Conference of Veterans Affairs Catholic
Chaplains are to follow the mandates and recommendations of:
The teachings of the Pope and the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic
Church as stated for Ordained Catholic Chaplains.
The regulations and principles as set forth in the PRIESTS'
MANUAL of the Archdiocese of the Military Services of the
United States of America.
The Ethical Principles set forth by the United States Catholic
Conference of the United States pertaining to medical matters.
The Ethical Principles and directions set forth by the Veterans
Affairs Manual and the Laws and regulations set forth by the National
and State Governments, providing that they are not in conflict
with the Ethical principles of Scripture and the teachings of
the Roman Catholic Church.
- The leadership of one's own informed and correct conscience
formed by continuing study and meditation on the Scriptures, the
writings of the magisterium and other principles put forth by
many other sources of Catholic teaching.
