Code of Ethics
The Fundamental responsibility of all ambulance personnel is:
-- To provide services based on human need, with respect for human dignity,
unrestricted by considerations of Nationality, Race, Creed, Color, or Status.
-- To conserve life, alleviate suffering and promote health.
-- To refrain from using professional knowledge and skill in any enterprise
detrimental to the public good.
-- To respect and hold in confidence, all information obtained in the course
of professional work, unless required by law to divulge such information.
-- To understand and uphold the laws of the land and work with other citizens
and health professionals to meet the health needs of the public.
-- To maintain professional competence and demonstrate concern for the competencies
of the other members of the health care system.
-- To assume responsibility in defining and upholding the standards of professional
practice and education.
-- To adhere to standards of personal ethics with reflect upon the profession.
-- To protect the public by not delegating to a person less qualified
and service which requires professional competence
-- To refuse to participate in unethical procedures.
-- To assume responsibility of exposing incompetence or unethical conduct in
others to the appropriate authority.
