THE PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH SHALL BE OF PRIME CONSIDERATION
A Pharmacist shall not delegate responsibility requiring professional judgment except to another Pharmacist.
A Pharmacist shall observe the law, particularly those affecting the Practice of Pharmacy; uphold the dignity of the Profession; strive for its betterment; maintain a high standard of ethics; and report to the proper authority, without fear or favor, any unethical or illegal conduct which may be encountered within the Profession.
A Pharmacist shall protect the patients' right of confidentiality.
A Pharmacist shall maintain a high standard of professional competence throughout his/her practice, through continuation of his/her education and professional experience.
A Pharmacist shall be a willing, sincere and diligent preceptor in the training and education of future Pharmacists and others.
INTERPRETATION OF PRINCIPLES OF ETHICAL BEHAVIOUR FOR PHARMACISTS
A Pharmacist shall hold the health and safety of the public to be of first consideration in the practice of the profession; rendering to each patient the full measure of his/her ability as an essential health care practitioner.
A Pharmacist shall exercise good professional judgment in the provision of medication information to the patient without intent to undermine the credibility of the prescriber.
Information concerning a patient, his/her treatment, or person, shall be held in strict confidence by a Pharmacist and divulged only as authorized or in the best interests of the patient.
A Pharmacist shall associate with, participate in, and financially support organizations for the betterment of the Profession of Pharmacy.
A Pharmacist shall cooperate with other health care practitioners to ensure delivery of the highest level of pharmaceutical services to the public.
A Pharmacist shall protect the public welfare through cooperation with government, enforcement, and consumer agencies.
A Pharmacist shall not participate in any advertising or promotional program which might detract from the honor and dignity of the Profession, or encourage misuse or abuse of drugs.
A Pharmacist shall be governed in advertising practices by highly professional integrity.
A Pharmacist shall not engage in any practice, the conditions of which might cause a compromise of acceptable standards of the profession.
