| Abstract | Article observes that due to some of the unique properties of nanomaterials, existing methods for determining hazardous levels of exposure to nanoparticles in the workplace and in the environment may be inadequate. The authors suggest that two distinct kinds of initiatives are needed: 1) an increase in federal funding of nanomaterial risk research, and 2) the speedy development and implementation of voluntary standards of care pending development of adequate regulatory safeguards. |
