Occupational exposure to nanomaterials: Present knowledge and future development

The article discusses the limited number of qualitative risk assessment studies that have been done for only a handful of nanomaterials, and suggests the use of the Precautionary Principle, the implementing of appropriate engineering controls, the user of personal protective equipment, establishing safe handling procedures, and monitoring workers health as ways to manage the issue of workplace safety until further studies can be done.
