Abstract

Report warning about the inclusion of nanoparticles into cosmetics and sunscreen products without proper safety testing of possible consumer, worker, and environmental health risks. Companies are rushing nanoparticles containing products without first doing proper toxicology testing. Friends of the Earth, the environmental group releasing this report, calls for a moratorium on commercial release of these products until adequate safety studies have been completed and adequate regulations have been put in place to protect the general public, workers manufacturing these products, and the environmental systems in which waste products will be released.
