Microsystems and nanoscience for biomedical applications : a view to the future

Article discusses some of the possible applications of nanotechnology and microsystems, heath care delivery, and some of the related ethical issues. For many of these predicted advancements in disease diagnosis and prevention, a large amount of medical information would need to be gathered and shared, raising possible privacy, and social values and trust issues. The authors recommend that the public consultation process must occur as these types of technologies are developed to ensure a high level of public trust is maintained.
