This article summarizes findings from the first Nobel mini-forum symposium on nanotoxicology held in Stockholm, Sweden. It shares the results of recent and ongoing studies of carbon-based nanomaterials, including research on single-walled carbon nanotubes, using a wide range of in vitro and in vivo models systems.
