Abstract

This article discusses the responsibility that scientists have for ensuring their work is interpreted correctly for three main reasons, the vulnerability of others to the misrepresentation of their work, because of the unique power society has granted to scientists as specialists and professionals, and lastly that scientists should ensure their work is interpreted correctly for prudent, self-interested reasons.
