Abstract

This report, put out by BMRB on behalf of the business consultancy company College Hill, discusses the opportunities and challenges presented by the use of nanotechnologies in food. It discusses the potential uses of nanotechnology in agriculture and the food and drink sector, and the challenge of gaining public acceptance of the use of nanotechnologies in food. The report advises the the key to moving forward is to provide venues for two-way dialogue that bring in all the stakeholders, from the government to the general public, to talk about the possible opportunities and risks of nanotechnology, and for industry and its regulators to work on establishing reliable, trusted sources of information for stakeholders wanting to know more.
