| Abstract | This report looks at the current level of knowledge about the health and environmental hazards that may be associated with some types of engineered nanoparticles, and ways in which workers handling these particles can be protected from any potential risks. The authors found that while the numbers of commercially available chemical products of nanometric dimensions is increasing, the level of knowledge about their potential hazards remains fragmentary. The authors review this current level of knowledge about the health and environmental risks of engineered nanomaterials, and propose some avenues of research that they feel are a priority in the current Quebec context. |
