Third international dialogue on responsible research and development of nanotechnology

This conference held in March 2008, sought to bring together a large number of international stakeholders to analyze progress made towards the responsible development of nanotechnologies, to share experiences and benchmark initiatives, and to foster cooperation to define what can be done better at an international level. The dialogue also aimed to facilitate good governance so that this technology can be used to meet the needs of society as a whole without creating new economic or knowledge distances either in or between countries of the world. The report also covers the role of codes of conduct, standardization of nanotechnology guidelines, societal engagement, and how to bridge the gap between nations in regard to nanotechnology development.
