Abstract

This code of conduct, developed by the Swiss Retailer's Association (IG DHS) and the Innovation Society, covers the obligations of IG DHS members, manufacturers and suppliers who work with consumer products containing nanomaterials. The code requires members to keep up with the latest scientific information available about the engineered nanomaterials used in their products, to clearly inform the public about products that utilize nanotechnologies, and for companies to request a minimum level a minimum level of information about the nanotechnologies used in their products, such as the benefit or added value of the nano-product compared to conventional products, technical specifications of the nanomaterials, and all current knowledge about the risk potential of the materials.
