Abstract

An analysis of the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies' Research Research Inventory found that while in 2006 the U.S. government predicted that $37.7 million was dedicated research looking at potential environmental and human health (EHS) implications of nanotechnologies, only thirteen million was spent on research projects primarily looking at EHS implications. The rest of this funding goes to projects who only have either a substantial or marginal focus on risk research. In contrast European Countries spent nearly $24 million on research primarily focused on nanotech risk research.
