Abstract

The European Commission has adopted a Code of Conduct for Responsible Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies Research, and invites member states to adopt this code of conduct, which is based around seven general principles. These principles are: meaning (research activities should be comprehensible to the public and respect the rights and well being of individuals and society), sustainability, precaution, inclusiveness, excellence, accountability, and innovation.
