Abstract

This review discusses several important issues relevant to the pulmonary toxicity of nanoparticles, especially singled walled carbon nanotubes, their direct cytotoxic effect, their ability to cause an inflammatory response, and induce oxidative stress upon pharyngeal aspiration or inhalation.
