| Abstract | In this report, the author discusses some suggestions about what an oversight system might look for the next generation of nanotechnologies. He describes a new Department of Environment and Consumer Protections that would incorporate an integrated approach to the oversight and monitoring of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, and suggests the development of legislation that would focus on product regulation and new tools that could be used to deal with future health and environmental problems that may arise with the ongoing development and use of nanomaterials. |
