| Abstract | This is a collection of three teachers' guides to help middle school through high school students become acquainted with the possible societal implications of nanotechnology. "NanoCommunity" helps students understand how new technologies can affect communities in different ways, "Rocks and Nanobots" helps the students think about the positive and negative effects of new technologies by having them think about the possibility of using nanobots in medical care, and "Technology and Public Policy" uses an activity to illustrate how technology influences society, and how society makes decisions regarding technology. Each activity includes objectives, handouts, and background materials. |
