Abstract

The authors explore international regulatory frameworks address possible adverse effects of nanotechnology, and also investigate some of the rationales behind these frameworks such as the potential for curtailing cross-boundary environmental risks and helping stop the development of a nano-divide between developed and developing nations. The article ends with suggestions of models for the international regulation of nanotechnology, and the authors critique of each model potential.
