Harnessing nanotechnology to improve global equity

Article examines the efforts of developing countries to play an early role in developing nanotechnology. To further assess the impact of nanotechnology on sustainable development, the authors analyzed how well these nanotechnology opportunities matched up with the eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals, which aim to promote human development and encourage social and economic sustainability. By examining current research projects being done by developing countries, the authors seek to provide lessons for other countries seeking to harness nanotechnology in order to move towards self-sufficiency.
