Abstract

Under a ruling by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Samsung's SilverCare Washing machines, are covered by pesticide rules because the company claims the washing machine kills germs by injecting silver ions into each wash load. This case is being viewed by some as another test of how the government will treat consumer products that exploit nanotechnology.
